There’s something wonderfully comforting about a farmer’s market trip. It’s a ritual that I try to treat myself to as much as possible. I love wandering and weaving through tables of local produce while absorbing the scents and sights. That loaf of whole grain bread, the obligatory bunch of kale, and lots of sampling (then ending up with toothpicks in the strangest places afterwards. Sorry, back pocket of my jeans).
With fall in full swing and the holidays coming up, I’m already planning out my favorite dishes. Many of which are centered around seasonal fruits and vegetables. That said, here’s my farmer’s market picks for November. Recipes soon to come. Hint: It's something roasted, sweet and savory with those carrots and the pomegranate.
Here’s how to get the best pick of the pomegranate bunch: Find a heavy one (the heavier the fruit, the more it’s packed with juicy goodness) and the skin should be slightly cracking or splitting.
